Pilief Ointment by Charak (a.d. 1949) has a dual action in the treatment of hemorrhoids.  Pilief Ointment aids in the treatment of hemorrhoids (external and internal) and anal varices, and relieves associated discomfort. Cyamopsis tetragonolobus has laxative properties and Melia azadirachta has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effects.  Curcuma longa has a prokinetic effect, and Plumbago zeylanica has anti-H.pylori properties.
