Pigmento ointment Charak - Ayurvedic ointment against Vitiligo

Pigmento Ointment Charak is a comprehensive formulation for the effective treatment of acquired vitiligo. Melanocyte damage and free radicals are considered the main cause of vitiligo. The ointment inhibits the immune response directed against melanocytes and prevents the loss of skin pigment caused by free radicals.

Acquired vitiligo - Vitiligo - is a skin condition that involves depigmentation. Depigmentation involves the destruction of melanocytes (the cells responsible for skin colour). This results in discoloured, light-coloured patches on the skin. Acquired vitiligo is one of the most troublesome skin diseases. The white patches can appear on any part of the body and range in size from small to as large as several centimetres.

Psoralea corylifolia, the main ingredient in Pigmento, stimulates melanocytes to produce melanin. Tatarack, Cassia tora and Melia Azadirachta have antifungal properties. Tephrosia purpurea modulates both cellular and hormonal components of the immune system. The other ingredients in the formula also have immunomodulatory and antioxidant properties.

In order to achieve the desired result, it is advisable to take Pigmento in tablet form and to apply the ointment to the affected areas.

Pigmento Ointment Charak application
It is recommended to apply the ointment externally min. 2 times (morning and evening) on the affected areas. To achieve a permanent therapeutic effect, the preparation should be applied for at least 12 weeks. The preparation is absolutely non-toxic, suitable for long-term use and does not interact with other medicines.

A vegetarian diet is recommended. Citrus fruits (acidic), curdled milk and refined sugar should be avoided during the treatment.
